Privacy Policy for Tendly - هونًا

Effective: 2026-07-06 Version: 1.0 Applies to: the Tendly - هونًا mobile app on iOS and Android.

The short version

Tendly stores everything on your device. Nothing leaves. We have no server. There is no account. We run no analytics. We show no ads. We cannot see what you write, when you write, or whether you write at all.

Uninstall the app and everything is gone.

What this policy covers

This privacy policy describes how the Tendly - هونًا mobile application (“Tendly,” “the app,” “we,” “us”) handles information created while using it. Tendly is developed by Samaa Soltan (“the developer”) and distributed through Google Play and the Apple App Store.

What data Tendly holds

Tendly stores three kinds of information — all on your device only:

Your entries. Every daily entry, thought, feeling, gratitude line, and journal note lives in a local database on your phone (Hive CE, for the technically minded). None of it leaves your device.

Your settings. Your chosen theme (light / dark / system), language (English / Arabic / system), and reminder preferences (time, whether reminders are enabled, and the habit cue you named during onboarding) live in your phone’s local preferences store (SharedPreferences).

Nothing else. No location, no contacts, no photos, no health data, no device identifiers, no advertising IDs, no crash logs, no telemetry.

What data we collect from you

None. The app has no way to send anything to us or to anyone else. There is no network code path that transmits your data.

What data we share with third parties

None. There are no third-party SDKs in the app that phone home. No Firebase, no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no Sentry, no advertising SDKs, no user-identifier tracking, no attribution frameworks.

Notifications

If you enable the daily reminder — either during onboarding or later from Settings — Tendly asks your phone to schedule one local notification at the time you chose. This happens entirely on your device using the operating system’s own notification scheduler (Apple’s UNUserNotificationCenter on iOS, Android’s AlarmManager and NotificationManager on Android). Nothing about the notification — the fact that it’s scheduled, the time, or the content — is transmitted anywhere.

On iOS, you will see a system prompt asking permission to send notifications the first time you enable them. On Android 13 and later, you will see a similar prompt. If you deny, Tendly will not attempt to work around it — the reminder simply will not fire until you re-enable via your device’s system settings.

Backups

If you have your phone configured to back up to iCloud (iOS) or Google Auto Backup (Android), your device’s backup system may include Tendly’s local database as part of your general phone backup. This is a function of your device’s OS-level backup, not something Tendly enables, requests, or controls.

If you don’t want Tendly’s data included in your device backup:

Where your data lives

Everything Tendly stores is on your device, in the app-private storage location that only Tendly can read. Other apps on your phone cannot access Tendly’s data.

Your rights

Because Tendly holds no data on any server, data-subject rights are exercised directly on your device:

If you’re in the European Economic Area (GDPR), the United Kingdom (UK GDPR), or California (CCPA / CPRA), the rights those laws provide — access, deletion, portability, non-discrimination for exercising your rights — technically apply. Because we hold no data server-side, exercising them is a matter of using the app or uninstalling it. We do not sell or share your personal information because we do not have it.

Children

Tendly is not directed at children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use Tendly. The app does not knowingly collect information from children (or from anyone else — see everything above).

Security

Data stored on your device is protected by your device’s operating system, its unlock mechanism, and Tendly’s private app storage sandbox. Tendly does not add its own encryption layer on top of what the OS provides. If your phone is unlocked and Tendly is installed, someone with physical access to the phone can read your entries — please be aware of this.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change this policy, we will update the effective date at the top and note what changed here. Any change that materially reduces privacy would be surfaced inside the app for your acknowledgment before it took effect.
